ACR ResQlink PLBs | Registration

Last Updated: Aug 13, 2019 02:21PM IST
The ACR ResQlink Personal Locator Beacons (PLB) should be registered at the time of purchase or installation.

The registration of the PLB is valid for two years - so the owner so re-register the PLB every two years.

What should I do if the PLB's owner changes?

The original owner must notify the authorities and de-register the beacon, before the new owner can register it.

Why is it so important for me to register my ACR ResQlink PLBs?

Registering the PLB is required by law in the US and most countries. It is very important because if your PLB is ever activated, it is how Search and Rescue operators will know who you are, and have the contact information of your emergency contacts who have details about your travel plans.

In the absence of this information, it may take longer for Search and Rescue operations to begin.

How do I register my PLB?

1. Visit the ACR Registration database to find the appropriate National Authority here: https://www.acrartex.com/support/faqs/

2. Register with your country's National Authority online here: http://www.beaconregistration.noaa.gov/
